Book Nichol

An Evening with Unconventional Lions & Friends!

Love Story Yoga / 473 Valencia Street / San Francisco

12/16 ~  5 - 7:30pm

Come join me, my husband David, and our dear friends Nkechi Njaka, Sará King, Orlando Villarraga, and Cory Tauwoo for an event with live music, movement and mindfulness. David and I are both Garrison Institute Fellows and all of the friends joining for this event came through our connection with Garrison Institute. Together we will create an immersive live music experience at the nexus of contemplative practice, movement and creative expression. The music will take you on a journey through guided meditation, rejuvenating movement, playing percussion instruments, and sound healing. It will include opportunities to be in community, to move your body and to rest. This synthesis of music, movement and mindfulness will leave you feeling joyful, connected, relaxed and nourished - a perfect antidote to any holiday stress and a great chance to get down and boogie!

We will take you on a journey through:

guided meditation
rejuvenating movement
playing percussion instruments
Deep rest
sound healing

This is a donation-based offering and all of the proceeds will benefit Love Story Yoga in recognition of the amazing teaching that takes place there, and their generosity in hosting this event.

About Orlando

Orlando Villarraga loves to express himself as a poet, musician, and sound artist.  Orlando often finds himself living “in-between” worlds and draws inspiration from that complex and nuanced space.  His approach for his work has come at an intersection of studying under the Teyuna indigenous cultures of Colombia, and undertaking mentorship in contemporary sound meditation practices. His work intends to hold a mirror to our own meaningfulness and connection to nature, which is fertile soil for catalyzing connection within, and with each other. Recent collaborations include MoMA and Wisdome.LA
