Embody Your Anatomy Course

This comprehensive applied anatomy course was developed through over a decade of teaching anatomy for yoga teacher training programs. I am passionate about teaching this topic because I believe that understanding human anatomy and applying it to how you move is revolutionary. It helps to prevent injury. It helps you to make smart choices. It deepens your practice and unlocks your potential. If you teach, it makes your teaching more skillful. Overall, knowledge of your own anatomy makes yoga practice more sustainable and empowering. Topics that will be covered in this course include anatomical terms and concepts, the respiratory system, the spine and axial skeleton, the lower extremity (legs & feet), the upper extremity (arms & hands), anatomy of the voice, and special cases like low back dysfunction and scoliosis. Upon successful completion of this course, you may receive 25 hours of continuing education with Yoga Alliance.

The purpose of this series is to work up toward some of the more challenging poses! Breaking down intermediate and advanced poses in accessible, step-by-step fashion is one of my greatest loves and specialties. We will have an in-depth look at several arm balances and back bends. If you have been practicing for a while and are looking to take your practice to the next level, this class pack is for you! This class pack includes six hour-long classes.
