Unconventional Learning designs immersive learning experiences that integrate contemplative practice, aesthetic intelligence, and sound pedagogy to awaken creativity, embodied awareness, and wise leadership in individuals and organizations.

About 

 

Unconventional Learning is a creative learning studio founded by Nichol Chase and David Chase. Our work explores how meaningful learning and insight emerge when analytical thinking is balanced with the intelligence of the body, the senses, and the imagination.

 

Drawing from psychology, contemplative traditions, somatic movement, music, and the arts, we create experiences that invite individuals and groups to reconnect with deeper forms of knowing—what we often describe as embodied intelligence, aesthetic intelligence, and intuitive insight.

 

At the same time, our approach is grounded in thoughtful educational design and strong pedagogy. We draw on research-informed practices in experiential learning, reflective inquiry, and contemplative education to create environments that support meaningful engagement, creativity, and lasting transformation.

 

Through courses, workshops, retreats, and leadership development programs, we cultivate spaces where curiosity, creativity, and dialogue can unfold—helping people think more clearly, collaborate more effectively, and connect more deeply with their own insight and purpose.
